Our Building Surveyor is able to provide remedial solutions in alliance with your Architect, Architectural Designer or Builder to ensure that your building is restored to its expected performance and meets the requirements of the Building Code

WEATHERTIGHTNESS ISSUES / BUILDING REMEDIATION

Our Building Surveyor will liaise with other Professionals and Tradesmen to determine the best and most cost-effective solution to remedy identified defects. During Remediation / Re-cladding works our Building Surveyor will check any exposed timber for decay and damage and mark-up timbers that are to be replaced by the builder.

CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION

We are able to prepare tenders and circulate them to your chosen providers. We will review their completed tender documents and feedback the pros and cons of each so that you are able to make an informed decision on whom to employ for your building works. Our Building Surveyor will critically assess any payment claims and variation notices made by the Contractor during the works and monitor the building during any Defects Liability period prior to the release of any retention monies held.

EXPERT WITNESS

We can provide all levels of dispute resolution relating to building issues including those caused by weathertightness defects. This service involves independently investigating the buildings issues, collecting and analysing the evidence, determining who is responsible for the building defect and presenting the findings at mediation hearings, arbitration or any level of legal proceedings including Disputes Tribunal, District or High Court.

MAINTENANCE PLANNING

We are able to compile an easy-to-read Maintenance Plan on the completion of works or as a stand-alone document for Commercial, Body Corporate and Residential establishments.

DILAPIDATIONS / WANTS OF REPAIR

We are able to perform a building survey of premises at the start and end of a commercial lease and compile a Schedule of Dilapidations / Wants of Repair and Photographic Record, detailing the original condition or to confirm the items that require attention and costs of disrepair at the end of the lease.

We are able to investigate isolated issues that may threaten the status of a healthy home. These investigations may include, for example, unexplained mould and moisture in specific areas of the house, unexplained damage to timbers in floor and roof spaces, potential contamination from exposed building materials or unsafe or unsatisfactory work practices of Contractors that may put the occupants at risk.
